Board of Directors - 2019 Nomination Call

Nominate a candidate for the 2019 Board of Directors

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is one of the most influential business organizations in Canada. It is part of a robust business community that extends regionally, provincially, nationally, and around the globe within the Chamber of Commerce and the World Trade Centres networks.

We seek to ensure that we have a diverse and inclusive Board of Directors to govern our organization. The Board undertakes an extensive review of the Chamber’s detailed matrix of skills and experience, as well as ensuring balanced representation from small, medium and large businesses.

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for 2019 with the nominations and elections process for its Board of Directors. The Governance and Nominating Committee has identified two vacancies – one in small business (1 - 10 employees) and one in medium business (11 - 50 employees).

The Nominating Committee is currently assembling a full slate for the open positions and will forward the slate of candidates standing for election as a part of the election ballot. In addition to this process, the membership is welcome to submit “nominations from the floor”. The membership has until November 1, 2018 to submit nominations to the Edmonton Chamber’s office. Each submission requires at least five members in good standing to support the nomination.

If an election is required, the Nominating Committee will send out the ballots to the membership. The ballot, containing biographical information on each candidate, will be provided online and submitted online or by mail to the Edmonton Chamber’s office, so it is received by no later than December 3rd, 2018. The designated representative of each member, regardless of size of business, is eligible to vote for the slate of candidates.
