Featuring a State of the League from CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie
The 106th edition of the Grey Cup game – the largest single annual sporting event in Canada – will be played at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium on November 25, 2018.
To kick things off in style, we invite you to join Canadian Football League Commissioner Randy Ambrosie for a special breakfast event on Friday, June 1. Enjoy a hearty breakfast of Steak & Eggs, prepared by the Shaw Conference Centre's Red Seal chefs, as the Commissioner shares exciting details on the state of the league, the upcoming CFL season and the 2018 Grey Cup.
Think big. That’s been Randy Ambrosie’s motto since taking on the role of CFL Commissioner less than a year ago. The 14th commissioner of the Canadian Football League, Ambrosie knows a thing or two about our nation’s great game. As an offensive lineman for the Edmonton Eskimos, Calgary Stampeders, and the Toronto Argonauts, over nine seasons, he played in 142 professional games and became a Grey Cup champion in 1993 with the Eskimos.
Ambrosie is also a strong business leader. Following his days on the field, Ambrosie pursued a career in the financial field, as a Managing Director at CIBC Wood Gundy, a District Manager with Merrill Lynch Canada, and a Manager and Financial Advisor at Midland Walwyn. He went on to lead sales and growth strategies with HSBC Canada Securities and HSBC Brokerage USA (2003), and became President of AGF Funds (2007) during which time AGF became the fastest growing independent fund company in Canada. In 2012, Ambrosie joined MacDougall, MacDougall and MacTier, where he helped re-energize Canada’s oldest investment company as its President and Chief Executive Officer.
Ambrosie’s vision for growing the Canadian Football League includes expansion into Atlantic Canada, marketing the game to a new generation of fans, changes to existing playoff structure, and an ongoing commitment to the safety of the leagues’ athletes.
Hear highlights from Ambrosie’s first year on the job, and details of his vision for the future of the Canadian Football League and his goal to make the CFL the 'the most important league in this country'.
In addition to the Eskimos Cheer Team, the Grey Cup itself will even make a special appearance, giving guests the opportunity for a memorable photo keepsake.
Breakfast Event Exclusive: Get Grey Cup tickets before the general public can!
Breakfast guests also will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase Grey Cup tickets before they go on sale to the public at 2:00pm. Tickets will be available for purchase on-site following the conclusion of the breakfast.
Edmonton holds the record for the fastest sell-out in Grey Cup history, selling out Commonwealth Stadium in just six days back in 2010, and we want you to be there in 2018!
