Help Shape the Future of the Chamber – Board Nominations & Elections Now Open

bd

Dear Members,

The Edmonton Chamber is continuing its evolution to ensure we remain the most effective business organization in our city. As part of this commitment, we are updating our Board Nominations and Elections process, aligning with best practices across Canada to strengthen our governance and build a strong, representative Board.

Our intent is simple: to build the strongest, most comprehensive Board possible. We welcome feedback and will continue to refine and enhance the process annually.

The following principles guide our nominations process:

  • Transparency: Clear timelines, criteria, and opportunities for members to participate.
  • Fairness: All members have an equal opportunity to be considered.
  • Strategic Alignment: Board composition reflects Edmonton’s economy and the Chamber’s priorities.
  • Diversity of Skills and Perspectives: A strong mix of capabilities and experiences across sectors.
  • Succession Planning: Building a pipeline of future directors for continuity and strength.

If you are interested in serving on the Board, this is the time to submit your Expression of Interest and resume through this form.

As we work to create a more comprehensive Board, we’ve identified industries we are particularly seeking this year:

  • Finance
  • Manufacturing
  • Technology & Innovation
  • Education
  • Marketing & Branding

These are not exclusive — all interested members are encouraged to apply. You can view the comprehensive director profiles here.

This is an exciting step forward in building a stronger Chamber and a stronger Edmonton. I invite you to review the process, consider how your expertise could serve our community, and submit your interest in joining the Board of Directors.

Together, we are strengthening the Chamber’s governance and building a Board designed to serve Edmonton’s business community into the future.

Sincerely,
