Property Tax Tips for Non-Residential Property Owners
Submitted by the City of Edmonton

Your property taxes are critical to keeping Edmonton running and making it a great place to live and work. Non-residential property owners, including office buildings, retail stores, professional buildings and industrial properties, contribute over $1 billion to the City’s operating budget. These dollars help to fund the services your customers rely on, provide important supports to the business community, and help the City make life better for all Edmontonians.
The City sent 2025 property tax notices out to all Edmonton property owners in May, including more than 25,000 non-residential property owners, and the deadline for payment is June 30.
As we approach the payment deadline, here’s what the City’s done to make it a little easier to understand your tax notice and pay your balance:
- Get your info online: The MyProperty online portal lets you view your assessment and tax information online, including your past notices and payment history, and sign up for electronic notices. To sign up for a MyProperty account, you will need your access code from a past assessment or tax notice.
- Payment options: You can pay your tax balance easily through your financial institution, or use telephone or online banking
- Automate it: The City also offers a monthly payment plan, where property owners can spread out their tax payments throughout the year via automatic bank withdrawals.
