Edmonton, AB – August 15th, 2025 – The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Global News Edmonton, is proud to officially launch the 2025 Edmonton Chamber of Commerce Mayoral Debate, a live, televised, and non-partisan event that will give Edmontonians the opportunity to hear directly from the leading candidates for mayor. This event is presented by Lloyd Sadd Navacord.

The debate will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District – Wayne Gretzky Ballroom. In addition to the in-person audience of 300–450 business leaders, community members, and media, the debate will be broadcast live on Global News Edmonton and livestreamed to reach thousands more across the city. 

“Our role is to give Edmontonians the clearest possible view of the choices before them—free from partisanship, focused on substance, and accessible to all,” said Doug Griffiths, President & CEO of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. “Partnering with Global Edmonton ensures this important civic conversation reaches residents in every corner of our city.” 

Participation in the debate will be limited to the top candidates as determined by an independent public opinion poll conducted by Leger, one of Canada’s most respected research firms. The Chamber will have no role in conducting, tabulating, or interpreting the poll results, ensuring the process remains fair, transparent, and impartial.
