Small Business Week 2026

Small businesses are the heartbeat of Edmonton. From the corner café to the family-run shop to the founder building something new from their kitchen table, small businesses create the character, culture and community that make our city home.

Small Business Week, presented by Servus Credit Union, is the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce's annual celebration of these local champions, and a chance for our business community to come together, swap ideas, share a laugh and grow alongside each other.

Monday

Small Business Launchpad

Small Business Launchpad kicks off the week with the foundations every small business professional needs, from economic insight over breakfast, to confident communication, a professional headshot, and practical AI skills. New to business? This is your launchpad. Been at it a while? Consider it your tune-up. Either way, you'll leave ready for what's in store for this week and for your business.

Tuesday

HR Essentials

Your people are your greatest asset, and Tuesday is dedicated to them. Partnering with CPHR Alberta, we'll explore how to protect your business from hire to exit with guidance from employment lawyers and HR professionals, then look at how post-secondary partnerships and alternative pipelines can help you attract and keep top talent. Book a one-on-one consultation with an HR expert to work through the challenges specific to your business. It's less about managing staff, and more about building a team that's built to last.

Wednesday

Government & Defence Procurement

Government and defence contracts aren't just for the big players. Wednesday opens the door to public-sector opportunity: learn how the Department of National Defence buys and what it takes to become a supplier, get up to speed on the "Buy Canadian" landscape, and find out how SR&ED can help fund your innovation. Hear how a local CEO turned defence opportunities into contracts in a candid fireside chat, explore immigration pathways for growing your team, and connect with City Council and administration over the noon hour at our Municipal Government Mixer.

Thursday

Accounting

Thursday is all about the bottom line. Build your financial confidence as Doane Grant Thornton LLP guides you through the fundamentals of business finance, then dig deeper into tax strategies that turn business losses into better cash flow. Hear how a local entrepreneur has built their success in our Small Business Spotlight, and balance out the day at an afternoon networking mixer with fellow business owners. It's less about crunching numbers, and more about making them count for your business.

Friday

Coffee with the Chamber: Small Business Showcase

Close out Small Business Week by celebrating the businesses you can see, taste, and shop right here in Edmonton. Join us for a showcase of nearly 30 businesses, sponsored by Alberta Blue Cross.

The countdown is on! Get your tickets now.
