The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce congratulates Canada’s 24th Prime Minister, Mark Carney, and the Liberal Party of Canada on their election victory. We also extend the same gratitude to all Members of Parliament, across all parties, elected to serve Canadians.

Throughout the election, the Edmonton Chamber called for urgent federal action through our Federal Action Plan, which sets out key priorities to support business growth, investment, and competitiveness. We will continue to advocate for critical infrastructure investments that make it easier for businesses to move goods and services across Canada and to international markets — including expanded port access, strengthened pipeline capacity, and more affordable air travel.

We remain committed to being a strong and active voice at the federal level, working alongside our partners at the Canadian Global Cities Council and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to ensure Edmonton’s business voice is represented at the federal level.

“As one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities, Edmonton offers a young, diverse, and highly skilled workforce, strong infrastructure, and a spirit of innovation. Business owners are ready to invest, create jobs, and drive Canada’s future — but they need a federal government that puts the economy first,” said Doug Griffiths, President and CEO of the Edmonton Chamber. “We are looking to Prime Minister Mark Carney to deliver bold economic action in the first 100 days, supporting innovation, improving labour mobility, and strengthening trade to ensure businesses stay profitable. We look forward to welcoming Prime Minister Carney to Edmonton soon and hope he will take the opportunity to hear directly from Edmonton’s business community.”

The Edmonton Chamber remains committed to working with Prime Minister Carney, his newly appointed Cabinet, and all Members of Parliament to deliver the conditions businesses need to grow, hire, and invest.
