Edmonton, AB — As the Edmonton Oilers take on the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final, Team Edmonton is stepping up, issuing a friendly challenge to the City of Dallas and its civic leaders. This is more than a hockey rivalry; it’s a chance to show what our cities stand for.
In the spirit of good sportsmanship and community pride, Team Edmonton is calling on Dallas to join a friendly wager: the losing city’s leaders wear the winning team’s jersey — and for those who want to go the extra mile, consider a good-hearted gesture like a local donation.
“Win or lose, this is a moment to come together,” said members of Team Edmonton. “We’re showing the country — and each other — what it means to be proud of our city.”
Team Edmonton includes:
- Members of Edmonton City Council
- Edmonton Chamber of Commerce
- Explore Edmonton
- Edmonton International Airport (YEG)
- Edmonton Unlimited
- Edmonton Global
- Edmonton’s Best Hotels
…with more stepping up by the hour.
At the heart of the challenge is a simple ask to Edmontonians: show up for Edmonton and the region.
Throughout the season, we’re encouraging you to post your videos and photos, share the love, and tag us in your clips – #OurTime, #WeAreYEGMetro, and #LetsGoOilers.
So grab your jersey, round up your friends, and head to a local bar, restaurant, or café to catch the game. Every seat filled is a show of support — not just for the Oilers, but for Edmonton’s small businesses, local workers, and the city’s incredible community spirit.
Because here in Edmonton, it’s Our Time. Let’s go, Oilers!
