In May 2025, Edmonton Chamber members from across the manufacturing sector sat down to share the real challenges and opportunities they face. From food production to advanced manufacturing, cannabis, pharmaceuticals, and machinery, these businesses are critical to our local economy — but they’re navigating growing pressures.
What we heard was clear: complex and overlapping regulations, labour shortages, supply chain disruptions, and interprovincial trade barriers are slowing growth. At the same time, many businesses feel government programs meant to help are often difficult to access.
The insights gathered directly from our members will help shape the Chamber’s advocacy to push for clearer policies, stronger support, and the conditions Edmonton manufacturers need to thrive.
