Nominate a candidate for the 2020 Board of Directors

03 October 2019

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is one of the most influential business organizations in Canada.  It is part of a business community that extends regionally, provincially, nationally, and around the globe within the Chamber of Commerce and the World Trade Centre networks.

As we strive to have a diverse and inclusive Board of Directors governing our organization, each year the Board reviews the Chamber’s matrix of skills and experience and ensures the Board includes a balanced representation of small, medium and large-sized businesses.

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for 2020 with the nominations and elections process for its Board of Directors.  The Governance and Nominating Committee has identified two vacancies – one in medium business (11 - 50 employees) and one in large business (51+ employees).

The Nominating Committee is currently assembling a list of candidates for the open positions and will forward the slate of candidates as part of the election ballot. The Chamber’s membership is welcome to submit nominations to the Chamber offices; nominations will be accepted until November 1, 2019.  Each submission requires at least five members in good standing to support the nomination.

If more than one nomination for each vacancy is received, the Nominating Committee will send out the ballots to the membership. Regardless of business size, the designated representative of each member company is eligible to vote for the slate of candidates. The ballot, which contains biographical information on each candidate, will be available online and can be submitted online or by mail. It must be received at the Chamber office no later than December 4, 2019.
